1. Set the Stage

Everything is new. New school. New class. New job. Spring moves with the energy of beginnings — and thus, by contrast, with an awareness of the old.
There comes a strange point in life when you no longer feel entirely part of that change, but instead begin to feel yourself becoming part of the oldness. The ebb and flow of time shifts, and new beginnings no longer feel simple or uncomplicated. They bring jarring ideas and emotions that can make you feel, well, downright weird.
This small late-spring piece — a haiku inspired by the work of Kaneko Tōta (read more in the Native Links below), alongside a short commentary — comes from that sensibility. Short and pithy.
Consider it an invitation. Find your own voice. Your own connection point between what exists outside and what bubbles within. Whatever shape that takes, embrace it: a poem, a commentary, an image, an SNS post that traverses this same terrain.

すべてが新しい。新しい学校。新しいクラス。新しい仕事。春という季節は、「始まり」のエネルギーに満ちています。そしてその一方で、不思議と「古いもの」への意識も浮かび上がってきます。
人生には、そうした変化の流れの中に、自分がもう完全には属していないように感じる瞬間があります。むしろ、自分自身が少しずつ「古い側」へ移っていく感覚が芽生え始めるのです。時間の流れは形を変え、新しい始まりも、もはや単純で無垢なものではなくなっていく。そこには、どこか奇妙で、少し説明しづらい感情や考えが混ざり始めます。
今回の小さな晩春の作品は、そうした感覚から生まれています。金子兜太の作品に着想を得た小さな俳句と、それに寄り添う短い解説（詳しくは Native Links へ）。短く、しかしどこか心に残る作品です。
これは、一つの招待状でもあります。自分自身の声を見つけてみてください。外の世界にあるものと、自分の内側から湧いてくるもの。その接点を探してみること。どんな形でも構いません。詩でも、短い文章でも、画像でも、SNS投稿でも。この感覚の地形を、自分なりに横断してみてください。
