What Became Clear
The year has ended. The noise has mostly gone.
Complete this sentence slowly, without explaining or justifying it:
I realize that…
Write three versions. Let each one grow shorter.

「I realize that…」で始まる文を、説明せずに書いてみましょう。
三つ書き、少しずつ短くしてください。削ることで輪郭が現れます。
RESOLUTION
Choosing, Quietly
January is not about transformation. It is about alignment.
Complete this sentence once, plainly:
This year, I choose to…
Avoid outcomes. Choose a way of acting, noticing, or responding.
Then reduce it to one line and keep it where you will see it.

NATURE
Go outside — briefly, intentionally.
Find one winter detail that would disappear if you weren’t paying attention:
- bare branches cutting into the sky
- condensation blooming on cold glass
- frozen ground beginning to soften
- wind moving through empty space
Choose one platform and respond in English:
- Journal: three plain sentences, no metaphor
- Instagram: one image + one restrained adjective
- X: one sentence under 120 characters
- TikTok: 5–7 seconds of stillness, captioned

LANGUAGE
Begin a sentence with this structure:

End the sentence early. Let what is unsaid do the work.

「Looking back, I can see that…」で文を始めてみましょう。
あえて言い切らず、余白を残してください。英語では沈黙も意味を持ちます。

Winter Landscape with Church (1811)
Friedrich’s winter landscapes are animated not by movement, but by tension. Snow flattens the world. Color recedes. Human presence shrinks.
And yet the painting is not empty. The animating force here is orientation — a figure positioned against vastness, a structure standing where belief, endurance, and solitude converge.
Winter becomes a moral and emotional space: restraint, resolve, waiting without collapse.
Choose one English adjective that feels both cold and steady:
austere / resolute / spare / hushed
Challenge:
1) Write a short analysis (3–5 sentences) explaining what you think animates this painting.
2) Create something in the same spirit:
- a simple sketch or photograph
- a short poem
- a piece of music or sound
